DJ Dido, Plovdiv: a new website on a 2012 domain that Google already knows

Dido is a wedding and party DJ in Plovdiv with over 20 years behind the decks. I wrote to him on the evening of 24 September 2026 because his website dated from 2012: an 800 pixel table with no mobile version. He answered the next morning: "This is exactly what I need." We spoke on the phone the same day and agreed on a new site on the same domain. On the evening of 9 October the new site went live at djdido-bg.com.

Phone 087 727 5750, Viber or WhatsApp on the same number, if your site is in the same position.

What I found

Two pages, 274 photos, orange tables over a photo of a banquet hall. The homepage weighed almost 10 MB on a phone, the lighting page over 22 MB. The site was assembled with a 2012 site builder and had not been touched in substance since. No sitemap, no robots.txt, six different addresses opened the same content and none of them told Google which one was the main one.

Before: the old site on a phone, October 2026. A desktop table shrunk to the screen, orange blocks and partner logos before the gallery.
Before: the old site on a phone, October 2026. A desktop table shrunk to the screen, orange blocks and partner logos before the gallery.
After: the new site on a phone. Him behind the decks, the stage lights, and one question: is your date free.
After: the new site on a phone. Him behind the decks, the stage lights, and one question: is your date free.

And despite all that, the site was first on Google for "wedding DJ Plovdiv". The domain dates from 7 October 2012. Fourteen years in which Google has shown it to people in Plovdiv and colleagues have linked to it. The strength was not in the HTML. It was in the domain and the address.

Rule one: do not break what works

When an old site sits on page one, the easiest way to lose it is to "refresh" it on a new domain or with new URLs. So before touching anything, I measured the baseline on 3 October: which addresses respond, how they respond, what had ever existed in the Internet Archive. The result was simple: only three HTML addresses in fourteen years, and all of them had to keep working.

The new site is on the same domain and the same hosting. The homepage and the lighting page keep their addresses. The copies of the homepage redirect to it with a 301, everything goes to https and to www, and the old photos stayed on the server so that image search links do not die. The sitemap and robots.txt are new, because there never were any.

Whether the first place holds will show over the coming weeks. I will add the numbers here when I have them, not before.

What Dido has that others in Plovdiv do not

Before writing the copy, I checked what the other DJs in town offer. As of 5 October, none of the ones I reviewed offered an LED dance floor, a 360 selfie booth or a photo mirror themselves. Couples rent those separately, from prop companies, by the hour. Of the three at the top of the results, none has a date check or a Viber button.

Dido owns all of it: a white and an LED dance floor, a 360 selfie platform, a photo mirror, low fog for the first dance, stage fountains and daytime colour fireworks. That became the story of the site. The first screen's headline is "Wedding DJ in Plovdiv", and the line under it says the rest: "Sound, light and a dance floor. All from one person."

The stage switches on

The first screen is a stage. Spotlights come on one by one over a photo of him behind the decks, and as you scroll, four steps arrive, each with one of his real clips: the LED dance floor, the clouds for the first dance, the 360 selfie booth and the confetti. Each step is also a switch. What you turn on lights up in the scene and goes into the message the site prepares for him.

Because the enquiry here is not a form. The "Is your date free?" button opens Viber with a ready message: the date, the event and the services the person picked. All that is left is to press send. For those without Viber, the same message goes out on WhatsApp, and the phone is always one tap away. Couples look for a DJ in the evening, from the sofa, phone in hand, and Viber is where they already talk to the other wedding suppliers.

Prices in plain sight

I asked him whether he wanted prices on the site. He answered with numbers: DJ for a wedding from 800 €, for a party from 700 €, white dance floor 1000 €, LED dance floor 1300 €, photo mirror 600 €, 360 selfie booth 500 €. They sit on the "Prices" page as "from", with a note on what each includes. A person who sees the price calls with fewer questions and more trust, and the one for whom it is too much does not waste two people's time.

The evening as it really goes

The homepage and the wedding page carry the programme of the evening in eight moments, from the couple's entrance to the horo dance. It is not a "package" and not an equipment list. It is told the way a Bulgarian wedding goes in a restaurant, because that is exactly what the bride reads: what will happen at my wedding and who will run it.

Twelve pages, one per search

Nobody searches for "DJ services". They search for "LED dance floor Plovdiv" or "DJ for a company party". So every service and every occasion has its own page: wedding, parties, LED dance floor, 360 selfie, photo mirror, effects, lighting, prices, gallery, contacts, and "About me" with his own text and his own photos. Each one has "Plovdiv" in its title and structured data for Google.

His photos, his clips, his review

Not a single stock photo. Dido sent 37 original clips, 1.19 GB, from which I made 17 clips for the site and 22 stills for the first screens of the pages. Every photo went through the same grading so they sit together as if from one photographer, although they come from different nights and different phones.

The site has one review and it is real: a Facebook comment from a bride whose wedding Dido ran in July 2026 in Plovdiv. It is shown as a phone screenshot with a link to the original. One true sentence is worth more than ten invented ones.

The technical part, briefly

Static HTML, CSS and JavaScript, assembled by a small Python generator so the twelve pages stay identical where they should. Motion is GSAP. No CMS, no database, no monthly fee. The homepage weighs about 0.6 MB on first load on a phone, measured on 11 October. It was almost 10 MB.

What comes next

The site is live at djdido-bg.com and paid in full. The next steps are a Google Business Profile, which Dido has never had, and Search Console, to see whether the first place for "wedding DJ Plovdiv" has held and what else is coming. The numbers will be here when they exist.

If your site sits on an old domain that Google knows, do not move it. Write to me, call 087 727 5750 or message me on Viber on the same number: I will replace it so the URLs and the position stay. I answer within 24 hours, with a price and a date.
