DJ Ivan & Krisi: a website for a DJ and host that clients book together
#Case Study#Weddings#DJ#Small business#Static site

Ivan is the DJ. Krisi is the host. People book them as a pair, for weddings, proms, birthdays, christenings and company parties across Bulgaria. They have a 5.0 rating from 95 Google reviews.

That is the first thing the site has to say. Not "DJ services". Not "sound and lighting". Two people, one team, one phone call.

What I found

The old site was on Pixieset, a platform for photographers. The photos were good, but everything sat on one page, with no text for Google to understand that these people run weddings in Bulgaria, and no clear place to call from. I pulled the real copy, photos and contacts from there so nothing is invented: the services, the numbers, even Ivan's and Krisi's lines are theirs.

What a person does when looking for a wedding DJ

Usually a bride, or the bride's mother, phone in hand, wedding in four months, three or four sites already open. She does four things, in this order:

  1. Checks who these people are. Faces, not logos.
  2. Checks what it looks like live. Photos and video from real events.
  3. Asks how much it costs.
  4. Calls. The person she has already "talked to" through the screen.

The site is built in that order, with one important twist on point 3.

1. Both of them on the first screen, each with their own line

Ivan and Krisi are on the first screen, each with one sentence that is theirs, not mine: "Not a single dull moment." (Ivan) and "Just music, emotion and mood." (Krisi). Right below: 5.0 from 95 Google reviews. People buy from people, and at a wedding you want to know who will be holding the microphone in front of your relatives.

2. A page for every occasion

Nobody searches for "Gold package". They search for "DJ for a christening". So every occasion has its own page: wedding, birthday, christening, prom, company party. The wedding page is written the way the day unfolds: welcome drink, outdoor ceremony, first dance, the horo. Google gets one page per search, and the person gets an answer to "so what would mine be like?".

3. No price list. On purpose.

This is where my first idea was wrong. I wanted prices on the site, because "how much" is the first question on every call. Ivan and Krisi convinced me otherwise: no two events are alike. A hall or outdoors, 40 guests or 200, four hours or all night, with heavy smoke and fountains or without. A single price on the site would be either a lie or the highest possible one.

So the "Prices" page is not a table. It explains the six things that shape the quote (venue, number of guests, duration, type of occasion, extras, your wishes) and the three steps from the call to the offer. And it says one sentence few vendors dare to write: if you want a truly lavish and expensive wedding, you may want to look elsewhere; if you want something more modest, boutique and fun, write to us. That filters, and it saves time on both sides.

4. A gallery by occasion, and video

The gallery filters by occasion: weddings, birthdays, christenings, proms, company parties. Every photo is from one of their events. There is video too, because "how it sounds" does not show in a photo. If you do not have such footage, better no section than stock. There is not a single stock photo here.

5. The call is the action

There is no enquiry form. There are two phone numbers, Viber and Messenger, one tap away, on every page. People call the person they have already spoken to, and they do not want to fill in eight fields so that someone calls back two days later.

The technical part, briefly

Static HTML, CSS and JavaScript. No CMS, no database, no monthly platform. Hosted on Vercel. It loads fast because there is nothing to slow it down, and the code belongs to the client.

What comes next

The site is live at djivankrisi.com. The next step is measuring calls from the site, because we are at the beginning and I do not claim results I cannot show. The 95 Google reviews are already there; the site's job is to turn them into calls.

If you run a business where the client wants to see who you are before calling, write to me. I answer within 24 hours, with a price and a date.
